Acording to recent research I've read, both genders are equaly talkative, but I'm sure some people would disagree.

Besides the fact that women have always been labelled as talkative and from which most jokes about women derive, I would say that it is true of most, but not all. In some cultures women are not allowed to speak at anytime unless they are addressed. In my lifetime though, I have met about six men with whom I could not converse because I could not get a word in edgewise! I am not talkative unless I know the other person/s well.

Yes, because they are proven better team workers. Men can work independently without losing any drive.

P.S. Women aren't necessarily smarter, but are perhaps more organized than most men come across to be.

P.S.S. Equality women. Where is the equality? There are men more intelligent than some women, and some women more intelligent than men.

In the recent study that was done and published in numerous mag's and newspapers:

"The researchers found that women speak a little more than 16,000 words a day. Men speak a little less than 16,000 words. The difference is not statistically significant."

I think if I would have been able to participate, It would have proven beyond a doubt that women are more talkative then men!

There was recently a large study done that found that men and women both tend to talk the same amount but about different things.

With a new survey in America it looks like men and women are equally talkative.
So the old saying women are gasbags should be reversed to men and women are gasbags.

My wife's phone bill is usually double mine, so I know my wife talks more than I do.

In my house (me, wife, daughter) I get approximate 5 minutes of speech in any hour. Sometimes when I really need to just talk about anything (a new gadget/tool/car I saw) I engage my dogs (both female) in a monologue. Even they tend to wanna talk back (bark, bark, whine, whine) and lick my face when I need to get rid of my quota of talk.

So I have to agree, women talk a lot more than men. Or maybe it's just at my house.

Do you want the long answer or the short one? The short one---Yep!!

Why?---- Well I've heard it put this way.
If a man is talking and there is no one around---- is he still wrong?
Guess women just feel that they have to impart all of their knowledge----- (real OR imagined!!!) Ha! Ha!

Well, it's really late and I'm tired so guess I'll go to bed and wake up my husband so I can tell him about all the stuff I read about in Y-Q&A tonight.

HELP!!! I'M TALKING AND I CAN'T SHUT UP!!!!

Just Me is correct. A recent study proved that the difference is less that 500 words per day.
