Actors are real people in real life.
Some are fun, some are miserable, some pick their nose, some are married, etc.
Just like any group of people from any profession.

It depends really. Some people don't enjoy the attention that being an actor gets them; they shy away from publicity and autograph hounds. That's not to say that they're notfun company for the people that they choose to have around them. Don't make the mistake of thinking that actors are "on" all the time. The smart ones aren't; the dumb ones are. The smart ones act when it's time to then turn back into real people when it's time to go home. The dumb ones (neurotic ones) act at all times for anyone who'll pay them attention and for all the wrong reasons. That said, there's no party as much fun as a cast party!

I think it depends on the person. I've met some actors who I can't stand in real life. They are egotistical, rude and obnoxious. But there are the others who are wonderful people and make you feel like you are their best friend. Actors are like any other group of people. There are fun ones and rude ones and those in between. Personally, I try to be as nice as I can to others, which results in being a fun person to be around. I think it makes for a good working environment and makes getting to your objective much easier. It is possible to be serious and focused and still be a fun person. To me, being fun doesn't mean goofing around, especially when you're in a theatrical environment and there is work to be done. When you're acting, you are 'playing' someone. The key word here is 'playing'. With that in mind you can certainly have some serious fun.

I've found there tend to be more extremes with actors. Some of them are the best people you could ever hope to meet. Others are some of the worst. You really do need to be a breed apart to stick with this. Most are a touch weird by the standards the general public lives by. One of the things I hate about being an actor is being forced to interact with the ultra liberal types who are drawn to this. But I've met many wonderful people and if I can get the commies to respect the fact that I get upset when they talk politics I usually have a good time with my colleagues.

Well, I act all the time- and I think I'm a fun person. I'm in the Drama Club at school- and there's tons of different personalities. Some of the kids there are funny, some artistic, and some are mean. It all depends on the individual actor, I guess. But I'm funny!!!

it depends. I am just getting into acting for my community theatre and stuff and everyone i have met is a lot of fun to be around. But I DID hear that not all of them are like that, but i think for the most part actors are fun people.

Sometimes they are. I've found with the actors I know is that they can be really nice people but loud, and/or arrogant because they're used to being on stage with all the attention but of course there are going to be actors that are total jerks...

Some are, some are bores. Actors are just people who act. Their personalities are as varied as those of the general public.

Depends on the actor...you know Steve Martin? Crazy fun on the screen, but his co-workers say he's very shy and quiet and serious in person. That's why they call it acting, I guess...

I have to agree with most of the people here. It depends on the person. I'm in theater myself and I find that when I'm in rehearsal I tend to focus on what I'm doing (it doesn't mean if someone cracks a joke I don't laugh) but I like to keep my head in the game.
If we go out afterwards, I tend to loosen up and have fun but I don't draw attention to myself.
