Standing beside my best friend (a male) as he married a girl that I felt was wrong for him. I planned the wedding with her and I stood right there beside him while the vows were spoken and the "kissing of the bride" was done. I showed a beautiful smile throughout the entire ordeal but was secretly falling apart.
I toasted the happy couple and stayed for a short while. Then I left and drank myself silly. Everyone there knew how much I loved him and they all expected it to be me up there at the altar. But it wasn't me and I proved to myself that I was big enough not to ruin his special moment with my wounded heart.
My heart was broken because, not only didn't she deserve him, but I had been in love with him myself for the last five years of our relationship.

I gave my daughter up for open adoption to a couple that could not have their own because she had optometrists, and he had retarded sperms. There were too many little coincidences to ignore. It was meant to be and I don't regret it anymore. I am not selfish, and it takes alot more to NOT raise a child than it does to raise them. It was psychically painful as well as emotionally.
