There is a small amount of water in methylated spirits - 5% or so - but there is nothing acidic or alkaline present to alter the pH away from 7.0.

-Methylated spirits ("metho") is a mixture of ethyl alcohol (95%) and methyl alcohol (%5). The methyl alcohol is poisonous and is added to prevent the methylated spirits being used as cheap drinking alcohol.
- The product also contains metabolites of alcohols such as Formic acid and formaldehyde etc, Therefore, the pH of methylated spirit is between 5.5 to 6.5 ,
