I was using AVG for a year or so very good too but it all went pear shaped one day as it has with you. I now use Avast that's also free and it's better than AVG in that it just dose the whole thing behind your back so to speak you have to be using it to know what I mean, I just don't get bugs any more and if you are in danger it will let you know Loud and Clear with the option to abort connection NOW it's a great job.

Go for it you can always go back, but I don't think you will.
Cheers.

Double click on the icon next to the clock.
This will open the AVG control centre.

At the bottom of the window that opens, you have the anti-virus status box, with two buttons marked "update" and "properties".
Click "update".

If that doesn't work, check the main box on the control centre page - you have 8 sub-headings, the 8th is "Licence". If your licence has expired, this will show you that.

The problem is usually caused by having a firewall which doesn't allow AVG to be an exception, while at the same time you have set AVG to update automatically.

It likely is that this particular. Antivirus utility can take in rather some pc memory and working 2 at as quickly as is perchance to reason interence between the two. Unistall norton and this hsould velocity it up. If it would not you may uninstall rogers too and take a verify out another unfastened antivirus which includes avast or AVG.

the program has a free trial of resident protection (14 days I think), after that those features are disabled. If you're past the 14 days, then that is why. It still will function (well) as an on-demand scanner, but if you don't plan on buying subscription then you might as well disable the option to start with Windows and exit the icon in the taskbar notification area.

I have this spyware detector and the situation you describe is correct when it needs updating. Have you a firewall or other 'barrier' which is stopping updating? If everything else fails, I can only suggest re-installation. You can get a copy here - http://www.computeractive.co.uk/vnunet/downloads/2129071/avg-antivirus-free-edition

Good luck.

Go to the icon, right click it select the test centre , in there , there should be a green tick, also it will tell you when the program ran its last scan, if you click on test centre in the left pane you can select updates or when you want the program to run
