Need to drown out background noise on a home made movie from a bar. How can I do this?

Can someone tell me what program to use to push out background noise in a video I made?
I made a video of myself and two others talking at a bar at kareoke and the music is really loud. Is there anyway I can quiet the music and bring the conversation that is about a foot away from the camera louder and audible? I can barely make out what they are saying.

Hmmmm, I don't know about that but I can tell you what we've usually done in situations like that. We go into a studio and record the dialogue. Then the original tracks become just background noise and your sound tech can bring it to whatever level sounds best.

if u want to just have their singing or put music in the video
change the audio of the sound =]
