3 guys buy a football for 30 dollars. they each paid 10 dollars. when they get to the cashier the, the cashier tells them the ball is on sale. The ball is on sale for 25 dollars. The cashier dosn't want to spit the money up evenly for the 3 guys so she gives them each a dollar back and pockets the other 2 dollars. So if she gave them each a dollar back that means they each payed only 9 dollars. 3 guys at 9 dollars each equals 27 dollars plus the 2 dollars she pocketed equals 29 dollars. WHAT HAPPEND TO THE OTHER DOLLAR.

If 3 guys end up actually paying $9 a piece that's 27$. The cashier keeps $2, therefore that brings us down to the sale price of $25. There is no missing dollar. Price - sale price = 5$. Cashier keeps 2 + guys keep 3 = 5

No missing dollar.

Yeah, that's quite an old riddle mixing up two different ways of calculating.
It's the same as the eleven fingers trick where you tell someone you have eleven fingers and countdown starting at the small finger from one hand to the thumb of the same hand (10-9-8-7-6) then you put up the other hand show the five fingers and say "plus 5 makes 11"
