1) Diamond, people say that "Pearl" is girly...I disagree, but get whatever one you want!
2)How do I use the WiFi?
Wi-Fi capabilities are already installed in your DS. But you just need something to connect it with your internet with, which your DS can't do alone. You need the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector. It costs around $35 bucks, but it can get you connect to the internet. Thats how you play with friends! Also note: You can only use it, if you have Windows XP. No Wi-Fi for Mac or Vista.

That's pretty much what I just said above. ^^; It is the thing.
4)Can I Use WiFi on a plane?
No you can't. It has to be around your computer. D:
5)Friend Codes for the Pokemon Game?
No, I don't play Pokemon, sorry. But if you have FF3 or Mario Kart DS, we can.

u need a router at home or the Nintendo WiFi connection stick.. the manual with the ds will tell u how to use wifi(u need a wifi compatible game like pokemon)
it is a Nintendo WiFi usb stick that allows you to go wifi.. u dont need one if u have a router at home...
Wifi cannot work on a plane becasue you are not near a portable online connection within 200m

I'd say they're both just about AS popular, but I got diamond and my friend got pearl, and we both feel I got the better end of the stick, haha...
The wifi will either work by being in a "Nintendo HotSpot" where you can pick up the connection wirelessly. (These "HotSpots" are in larger cities and such.) OR you can use your router, which is your highspeed internet modem, but mine requires so much configuring and such that I just purchased a small little USB device made by Nintendo for the Wii and DS, which does all the work for you. ^^
WiFi on a plane... hmm, doubtful...
and friend codes, can't help you there either.

2. You need a wireless router or an access point to get into the internet. Just go to a mcdonald's and use their internet.
3. Router is just a way to connect more computers to the same internet.
4. As long as you can get some signal you can but I don't think you will get any signal that high.
5. FC are assigned to you individually. You just need to log in once into nintendo wifi and it will give you a code. FC are different for different codes. Meaning that your FC for pokemon is not the same as your FC for mario kart.

To use wifi you need to be around a wireless connection, home pc, library, coffee shop, etc. Your ds will walk you through the set-up.
The ds wifi is short distance, wont work on a plane unless the plane has a wireless connection.

WiFi runs off of the internet. My fiance and I have DS Lites and we set them up for the WiFi. It requires an internet connection. So no you would not be able to use WiFi on a plane.

the router is what projects your internet in your house.
