I have a theory that with the new stud TE it should help keep the LB's off the line off scrimmage which will help the running game and help give grossman time to throw. For a team that was supposed to have a good offensive line they didn't do a real good job protecting grossman, he took a beating last year and he seemed like he had happy feet most of the 2nd half (similar to the Jim Everett syndrome)

NO.....

Their defense is still intact with the exception of Lance Briggs but everything else is doing good and I am hoping that they would put in a deep run to the playoffs....

But ofcourse, Rex Grossman is in the Budweiser Hot Seat so he needs to get off it and prove that he is a good player......

For all of you Rex Grossman haters out there:
Let's do a little comparison of stats for first year starters.

name_____________com% Yards TD/INT
Rex Grossman ______54.6 3193 23/20
Peyton Manning _____56.7 3739 26/28
Troy Aikman _______ 46.6 2579 11/18
Warren Moon _______57.6 3338 12/14
Steve Young _______ 53.7 2282 8/13
Fran Tarkenton______ 56.1 1997 18/17
Joe Theismann______ 47.9 2593 13/18

Now had we just written these guys off after one rough season we would be short 5 HOF QBs and a very solid franchise QB. Not saying Rex will be on that level, but give him a chance! Rex's issues were with bad mechanics-an issue ALL young QBs have. He made the correct reads, but made a bunch of fundamental mistakes. He'll be just fine this year. I think Chicago is far and away the best team in the NFC, but there is a lot that could go wrong. Injuries can ruin any team.

For those of you who keep insisting that this was Rex Grossman's first year, just stop it's getting annoying. He's been in the NFL long enough to know how things work. He has worked with NFL receivers for years now. He should know not to throw inside on a fade route. He should know not to put air on the ball when it's a slant.

yeah, that was grossman's fault, no matter how good your line is, you can't expect them to protect the QB for much more than 5 seconds in modern football, and thats all he should need, but grossman likes to hold on till after his window is closed, and gets hit for it.
But Cedric Benson is also another question, I don't think he can handle a full NFL workload. Not to meantion they looks Tank and Lance, 2 of their top defenders, I don't forsee them making it past the 2nd round of the playoffs (which they only get into because of a cake scheule and their weak-*** division.

I think you're hoping for an unattainable miracle if you're pinning your Bears hopes on Grossman having a good year. They should've traded/drafted/begged/sacrificed goats to get a better QB. That kid is a jinx. He'll try to buck this criticism, again try too hard, and again make a bunch of stupid mistakes.

Personally, I enjoy watching him flounder. Damn Florida kids. It was even better to have a former Volunteer QB beat him for the Super Bowl :)

Nice theroy BUT they have to use the TE and scare the LBs off the line. Also when they know Rex can't throw on the run they will Blitz and take the risk.

It would be absolutely impossible for Grossman to have a good year, ergo Bears will lose.

yes IF grossman has a good years the bears will be close to unstoppable. If is a funny word though. If a frog had wings he wouldn't bump his ***.

The Bears will suffer for as long as Rex GrossMan will be in Chi-town.

I think you answered your own question.....if Grossman steps up this year, they will go all the way. TE Olson was a great pick.
