jvela310 are you a complete moron? Babe Ruth overrated? Ruth was a career .342 hitter who averaged 142 RBI a season with 133 BBs and 86 SOs. AMAZING NUMBERS. not to mention hes number 3 on the all time home run list.. as for the question..

Manny Ramirez
-Off year, not manny like but still makes it to the all star game. he didnt put up good numbers at all and only made the all star game because hes popular.. not to take anything away from manny, hes a great player, theres just other guys who should have made it instead of him.. manny is hitting .288 with 12 HRs and 52 RBI... On pace for 22 HR,
94 RBI and 87 Runs..
Underrated
Magglio Ordonez
-at the time of this answer, magglio is currently hitting .358 with 14 HR and 75 RBI with 117 hits. He is on pace for 137 RBI, .358 BA, 214 Hits, and 130 Runs.. hes a guy you really dont hear about..

Most overrated: Barry Zito
He had one exceptional year and has lived off that legacy. Once batters have had a chance to study his motion and the release point of his pitches, they seem to have great success off him.
Most underrated: Kevin Youkilis
Outstanding defensive 1st baseman who plays in the shadow of David Ortiz. Youk is among the top players in the game in On base %, Batting Average, and OPS.

the most overrated players are anyone who plays in Boston or New York they just seem to get bonus points for just being on the team like they are the best players because they play in those cities. I will take A-rod out of there because he might be the best non-pitching player that ever played when all is said and done.
underrated players seem to be on the west coast and in the Midwest when you watch Sportscenter its like the forget about the entire country west of the Mississippi.
I don't know i guess that's just what it seems to me being from the Midwest and all.

overrated- Ivan Rodriguez, lost a ton of power and is losing his great arm.Should not have started all star game. A lot of passed balls this season.
underrated- Coco Crisp, batting .280 with 21 steals and no errors in center field, only problem not a great arm, can hit for power and average. Best centerfielder in the game behind Torii Hunter.
