I'm having a wedding soon in our back yard and we're outfitting the back yard with 10 tables. The tables would otherwise rest on the grass but we're considering rubber or some other type of material that might easily be put down. That way the ladies high heels won't get burried in the dirt, and our grass might survive the night. Not to mention the odd hole in the ground that the dogs have dug. Any ideas on what material or product to use that will be installed in the back yard?

Hi there. Rental companies should have what you're looking for. They actually have temporary flooring that is used for exactly your purposes. One such place is A to Z Rentals. http://www.azrentwv.com/parties_events.html

There you'll find the following under Staging/Flooring:
4 x 4 Staging Sections
Steps, set
Indoor/Outdoor Vinyl Style Dance Flooring
3 x 4 sections

I don't know how much they cost, but it's a good launching point for you. Have fun!

P.S. The link below is a picture of the type of flooring they use for outdoor events.

Give the 10 to Jen and go for the dollars it costs. Anything you attempt as a DIY will have to be similar anyway, and then you end up with all that plywood and rubberize marley dance floor material, or shower pan liner material.
