I know for a fact I can write. I have won several short story contests as well as poetry and vocab. contests locally... naturally, i want more. I want to write film screenplays, the lines that make actors famous. I'm just a little perplexed as to how one might do so...

I used to type for a playright. And he told me he had an agent
that he turned all of his plays or tv scripts over to. Everything
is handled by an agent in Hollywood. And the more famous,
the easier to get you through the door. It's in who you know
as well. More people move to Hollywood each year to fall in
with people and get invited to parties. Just so they can get to
meet a famous someone or other. The competition is fierce,
and it's all in the who you are, that people take the time to
read your screen plays. I doubt that out of state agents can
get their feet in the door. I believe most are LA locals. The man I wrote for, lived in the desert below LA. And he drove up to personally turn over his screen plays after I typed them and put them in a manilla envelope. I had to make two copies.
one for the agent, and one for the screen writer who was a
dentist. He told me he had one script coming out for use in
a StarTrek episode. I never did look for his name cuz I forgot.
But he didn't strike it big while I lived down there. But it was
a dream he had. Like alot of people, he dreamed of making
it big.
You might try some writing groups in your city. There are
those who read from their scripts or stories for critiques and
get tips from those who have published. I have seen them
listed in the Living sections or entertainment. Maybe someone can put you in touch with some special contact.

You would be an amusement journalist, a individual assistant, a concierge and a posh inn (no journey however you would are living in a groovy place), a individual chef, amusement supervisor/agent, paintings on a film/television team (digicam, lights, construction, staging, dress, makeup, and so on). Good Luck!

Movies are generally derived from books. The first step is to get published. Start with a book called Writer's Market. It list addresses and criteria of different publishers. It comes out once a year and can be found at book stores and libraries. Good luck.

Write your screen plays and get an agent.
Most studios or publishers do not accept unsolicited work as a rule.

Another way is to go to lots of parties with the arty crowd.

Write your books find a good printer(and in your case a good manager).
Good luck.
O, yes and see that you get a press card so handy and many doors get open but still you would have to work on it.
