I've been travelling on planes since I was seven. I'm thirteen now and am travelling to Arizona by myself for the first time. I'm afraid of some creep sitting next to me, becuase it is open seating, but I've been told to stay close to the attendents and tell them if I don't know where to go. I'm not eligible for unnacompied minor anymore, so I'm on my own. Any tips?

I've been flying by myself since I was 7. I promise it's not so bad! Sounds like you've done this before with someone accompanying you and it really isn't that different when you're by yourself. Since you're so young, the flight attendants will still be keeping an eye on you and I promise they'll be over there to see you more than they are with the other passengers. So really, you aren't all by yourself the way you think you might be.

Because you're young and flying alone, you can board the plane before everyone else. Try to get a seat up near the front of the plane. The flight attendants sit up there and will be available if you have questions or concerns.

Also, don't worry about sitting next to a creep! Like I said, I've been flying solo since I was 7 and the worst I've had was a fat person who fell asleep on me. ;o) I've actually made two really good friends who happened to be sitting next to me on different flights. You can meet some interesting people! And, because you're young, there's a good chance you'll sit next to someone who will watch out for you and help you out when you need it.

Oh, and try to get an aisle seat. Then you don't feel cornered by anyone who's making you uncomfortable, and you can get out more easily if you need to.

Good luck! It'll be really easy and later you'll laugh at yourself for being nervous. Take some magazines, books, gameboy, etc, to keep yourself occupied and not thinking about other things.

Don't worry. First of all, whoever told gave you advice about the attendants is right. They are employed to serve you, the passenger, in the best way possible. Secondly, airport security these days is tighter than ever. They won't let any criminals onto a plane. And thirdly, you being a bit smaller than most might be a good thing because you might be mistaken for younger and treated as an unaccompanied minor or just someone who needs help. The worst thing to do is worry or panic because you and I both know that only makes things worse. Besides, some of the "creeps" you speak of are just guys with a tough image or poor hygiene. It'll be fine.

I'm 14 and I would not. Every unmarried summer season I fly on my own to Oslo, norway, and the transatlantic flight is like 10 hours. And I have flown w/o grownup supervision for three a million/two hours to Philadelphia. No obstacle. Don't be scared.

Before you start freaking out see who you are sitting next to first. You could get seated next to people who are OK and then all this freaking out you are doing now will be for nothing. Once you are seated and everyone is seated around you ask the flight attendant if there are any open seats available. If there are take your pick. If not all you can do is ask the people within earshot if they will trade with you. If no one does you're just stuck.

i fly alone many tI'mes im 14

It really isn't that bad

A parent can walk you to your gate

and a flight attendant checks on you every 15 Min's or so

and if you don't want a weird guy sitting next to you simply say no weird guy is going sit next to you over and over it really will work

don't worry, "creeps" have standards high enough to not mess around with a girl of your questionable attributes and tremendous physical size

kick him in the balls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

any hit to the neck works wonders also

don't even need any muscles for this

...I practice shaolin kempo (i would never kick a guy in the balls though)

or, if you want to be boring, scream for help

seriously though, you'll be fine
nothing ever happens to you (only the other guy, or girl)
