Call me crazy, but just think about his: The Lakers as they are started the first half of last season at 27-14 before injuries ruined their season. If they would have continued winning at that rate they'd have won 54 games and it would have put them as the 4th or 5th seed in the wild western conference. So think about this, with that record in the west and Kobe's stat line of 32 points, 5 rebs, and 6 assist would he deserve MVP over Nash or Nowitzki? Say he pulls this off in the 2007-08 season?
Considering their roster now (with Fisher) and possibly trading for Jermaine O'Neal (they have no chance of getting KG), or even staying with the same roster as last year only healthy, we may see the Lakers win 50+ games and Kobe Bryant get his first MVP. What do you guys think?

Yeah...ok, Daniel K. I think you actually helped me make my point about injuries. The Clippers last season (2005-06) were relatively healthy and had a great season. This past season they had a lot of guys go down with injuries and they missed the playoffs.
The Lakers were 27-14 half way into the season, then they lost Luke Walton, Kwame Brown, and Lamar Odom (who are all starters) to injury and Vladamir Radmanovic went down as well yet they still made the playoffs! Why is it so hard to imagine that if they were all healthy they could have a season like the Clippers in 2005-06 or better?

Lets put it this way, You take Kobe away from that team, they might win a couple of games in a row, but season will end with the worst record in the NBA, Phil Jackson or not. So with this perspective, Kobe already is an MVP to have lead a worse than mediocre team to the playoffs for past 2 years.
Even the Knicks have more talent on paper than the Lakers, and yet they miss the playoffs in a weak eastern conference where only 2 teams had a 50 win seasons past season.

Hey King Midas, I don't know if you realize that Jordan won 5 MVP's. Deedeedooo!! You're basically saying that Jordan being a selfish player won those MVP's, so can Kobe. Really, I don't get the point of your answer, what r u trying to say?
And as for if Kobe will get MVP, I believe he'll have 1 before his career's over. And as for the KG trade, there's still some rumors flying around. Most recent is that the Twolves, Celtics, and Lakers are discussing a 3-team trade. Have any of you been wondering why they traded for Ray Allen, not for another scorer, they already have Pierce, perhaps he's a trading piece for this 3 team trade.

What up Lakers and Raiders each of how, i visit continually have a great appreciate for Kobe's basketball skills and how annoying the guy works at his interest. yet because of the fact the previous asserting is going while you're no longer with us, then you definately're against us. So Kobe being traded to a diverse team might desire to garner some activity in that different team-- enormously reckoning on which team that's. yet i became a Laker fan long until now Kobe became a Laker. and could be one long after he retires (as a Laker or somebody else). Lakers for existence!!! in my view i might desire to care much less how many factors Kobe scores- as long because of the fact the Lakers win rings! yet i might desire to admit that each 300 and sixty 5 days he pulls off some magnificent stuff and the guy is merely one heck of a ball participant... bypass Lakers in '09. Ok first of all you can't complain about injuries because almost every single team had to face them. For example Clippers lost Livingston for half a year, Cassell was out for about half the season, Corey Maggette missed 20 games, Cuttino Mobely missed 20 games, and Tim Thomas constantly had back problems. So don't even start with the injury excuse.
Yeah I'm showing you the Clipper's had it much werse then the Laker's but you don't see them complaining about it.

Yes
Kobe is probably the best player in the league
But he's still an adulterer and an accused rapist. And he's just a dick. I'm not a fan
He's a great player and unlike Nash he plays on BOTH ends of the floor. Steve Nash is a terrible defender while Kobe is one of the best in the NBA and even better than Nash on offense. If the Lakers win enough games he'll win one

I don't care if he wins the MVP or not as long as the Lakers do better and compete for a championship, look at Dirk he got it last year but he failed to lead his team to the finals. The championship is what validates players, MVP do too but not as much.
