that I'll change my mind about not wanting to have a child!? I'm 30 years old and I do not want kids - why do the people around me keep saying "that'll change!"

It will not change, I've always loved kids but know they're not for me! Sheesh!

They tell you that because they have trouble understanding that people sometimes feel that way. They have a firm belief that that's what we're supposed to do in life.

Good luck and just ignore them. The ones that know you and mean the most to you understand how you feel...forget about the others.

Don't listen to those people. Sure, they'll tell you that you should have kids, but they're not the ones that'll have to raise it! Just follow your gut.

they say that because the cannot accept it ,but one thing is true no matter what you say,"change is possible". with that said it does not mean youv will change you mind it just means there is still a possibility. those who keep telling you its gonna change are dependent on possiblity.it is human nature to hang on to possiblity and have faith in that possibility. that in essence is human life the belief and constant pursuit of possibilities

I figure at 30, you've made your mind up for the rest of your life.

Now, if you were 20 and said that, I would think you would change your mind.

They ought to say that because they don't know what else to say.

Maybe in the next 20 years after all your viable egg cells perished, they'll stop. Finally.

Same here. I've been married for almost 8 years, and I am almost thirty. I do not want children, nor am I sure I would be able to conceive.

People are too nosey about your uterus.

I guess it's our "nature" to reproduce, and they think the urge will come around to you soon enough. I think every woman has posed this question to themselves at least once... "Would I be a good mother?"

Well. . .you might love kids but you won't like the process or raising a baby into a kid. . .it's very difficult, but I believe you're ready. . .you're old enough
