Yes, from both... friend & family. One was a ring & I didn't know my family member had it for many many years until when I saw their child with it. I never mentioned it, because I love my family member much more than the ring, & this family member was very young when it happened. I know they would never do it as an adult. When I was in my teens, several friends stole my stuff, if I found it, I got it back w/o making a fuss. I would just say, 'Oh there's my so & so, I wondered where it was.' And I took it home. They were still my friends, but I was always careful around the ones that I knew would steal.

Yes, my husband's family has a very low moral radar. They have stolen from my husband's brother, who is in a wheelchair, and also from their grandmother on her death-bed. They stole money, jewelry, and prescription pills. Also they don't pay rent & live in houses owned by other family members. It's despicable.

yes, money and a locket that was given to me from my children when they were little. the girl and her mother was a friend of my daughters someone who fell on hard times that i was trying to help out, they came by the house while i was gone to see my daughter and they stole money, about $200 bucks and my locket, food and stuff. my daughter claims she knows nothing about it and she didn't think they stole it but it was either her or them.

Yep. My nephew who lived in my house for the past year stole my wedding ring which was my grandma's wedding ring, my promise ring and my anniversary ring and pawned them for drug money, along with a coin collection and about $1500 cash I had socked away.

Not like stole theyd put it as borrowed e.g. when you dont use them quite often and they thought that you wont put them to use although its your property, theyd just pick it up and use it. Then id be tottaly surprised that one day i need it, and was looking all around for it - and that its with them. I mean all types...even the dvd player and all. lols.

Yeah, an uncle of mine stole a bundle of cash from my dad. He lied when he told my father he 'accidentally' left it on the bus going to town. My dad believed him, but not me. His face told me it was nothing but lie.

You see, that money was supposed to be given for my grandparents up north. He was tasked to give it to them.

I understood your question perfectly, and yes my sister-in-law was the one person who stole the most from me materialistically. A new camera, diamond necklace, money, clothes, ring and watch to name a few. It happen over the course of several years, and when she moved half of the goods were left behind. Her daughter came to me and returned what she knew was mine. Thing is, she denied it for so long,........... and if she would have just ASKED me, I would have given most of it to her. ....that hurt .............interesting question

my aunt stole a necklace from me that my grandpa had given me and he had gotten it from Macys. I knew that she was lying, but she still denied taking it. then about 2 months later she had sent us pictures from a trip she took, And she was stupid enough to wear the necklace she stole from me!!. I confronted her, and it mysteriously disappeared shortly after.
