I'm probably on of the few people on Y!A who did see it. It aired from 1953, the year of my birth, until 1959. I just barely remember it. "Winky Dink," The Lone Ranger," and "O'Henry's the Cisco Kid," more more my thing back in the day.

There was a version with Tom Kennedy as the host and Kathy Lee Gifford as the Vocalist that ran for a few months in 1977.

And there appears to be a new version out this year with, (shudder,) Donnie Osmond.
Maybe BET can do a Motown version. That's a heritage I'd hate to see lost to hiphop.

I do. -And I remember thinking, "What a DUMB show..." Well, too many year later, after DECADES of seeing alot of even DUMBER shows- I realize that I was the "Dumb" one. And that "Name That Tune" was one of the BETTER ones of its genre. :)
