If you guys have been together for 18 years i'm sure she has had times where she looks back on the past. Best of luck.

Jason, she may look "back" but may not come back. She may feel too guilty to try. You can hope but then that hope will vanish with time as you begin to put your life together again. It will not be easy, but necessary. Don't rush into anything now and be prepared mentally should you see her with this other person. Imagine it. I know it feels awful. If you can't take it, turn around and walk away, try to keep your dignity. Hurt in private when possible or softly when you can't. I can tell you "they" will make a million excuses for their actions, none of which are really valid, so don't try to figure it out, you'll go crazy. Do the best you can right now and good luck.

I'm so very sorry for what you're going through. I'm there too and I wish I had the answer. I'd like my husband to look back. I don't know, but I'm wondering if a little time with the new person will make them look back after the new wears off. A relationship seems so fresh and easy when you don't have to discuss mortgage, laundry, yard work and leaving the toilet seat up...ya know.
All I know is I pray a lot. You can pour your heart out to God and He always listens. I'll say a prayer for you too.

living well is the best revenge or hitting the lottery. I heard of one guy that hit the lottery the day after his ex wife remarried. She missed out on a bunch of alimony.

Some people have all the luck.

Sorry about your pain friend , Best of best blessings to you.
I paid my second wifes new boyfriend to take her out for a good time, That was a smack in her face. She took up with a money less loser. A year or 2 later she wanted to move back with me. I just looked at her like she was stupid. Visit plenty of fish personals. I think thats the name of it.

Jason,

Most likely nothing can so please don’t even try and take it from me I’ve been there and done that. Anyway with that being said I would like to give you some advice. Most of it is from my Christian point of view. You most likely feel hollow with feelings of betrayal and self worth is low filled with guilt and shame.
First off, there is nothing to feel guilty or ashamed about remember Matthew 19:9. Also talking about this with everyone can make you feel like you are looking for sympathy so don’t. Here is what you can do.
Start your relationship with God put all your worries into His hands. I believe somewhere the Bible says that Gods loves us more than anything else and doesn’t he provide for the all the animals. He will also fill that hollow feeling you have and wipe anyway any shame or guilt for those who ask him. Just put God first and he will do those things for you.
God knows what you need and gives blessings. Keep in mind sometimes what we think we need and what He knows we need are two different things. So you are going to have to trust Him. Example in my case he filled my heart took away the shame and guilt and knew I needed a wife. So he gave me one that really loves me for me warts and all.
However, for you it might be the same, it might be different but there is one thing for sure. It will be a blessing and in the end everything will be ok. God takes care of those who put their trust in Him.
As for her he will deal with her in his own way just give him a chance to work on you.

God Bless

Sometimes they think the grass is greener! They think they can start new and they are leaving everyrhing behind. I call that not having a conscience!
Some look back they have memories of what theylost! However, it is not easy to go crawling back.
Usually people who try to go back feel defeated and can simply fall into depressions

If there are kids involved she or he might think of the kids and would come back because of that and that reason only. Usually when a spose leaves for a new lover it's because there is no love for that person anymore it's gone!!!

I'm sure she will miss you. 18 years is pretty much a long time for being married.

If the new lover turns out to be a loser, then your wish will be fullfilled that she made a mistake.

I understand that 18 years of marriage is a long time but why after she left you for someone else would you even care what she thought. She's not worth the time.

Let's be positive and talk about you. The best thing you can do is do well, involve yourself with other friends, and concentrate on you.

When this happens and it happens quiet often. The person is not who you thought they were and not worth spend one minute of your time thinking about. Concentrate on you!
