YES!!! In Iraq there was a missile on fire... and I was ordered to get the Humvee that was next to it before the missile blew up. At first I felt like I was a hero in an action movie... running fluid and stealth to the Humvee but when I turned the corner and saw the MoFo' on fire I froze... and walked softly as if the grounds vibration was going to set the missile off.

You don't fake bravery, Bravery is just overcoming the natural fear from within each of us. Then just shakin' it off and carry on! That is "BRAVERY" Some can, and some can't it's just as simple as that. You can ask 10 "Medal of Honor" winners and probably all will say they did nothin' extraordinary. Nothing anyone else in that position would not done. Have a Great Day!

No, everything about me is real. Faking bravery is only possible when you cower from a challenge. I have never not been ready to fight when the challenge was sounded. That has given me many types of scars but no regrets in as far as cowardess is concerned. What makes me think is the people who mistake talking about battles gone by as bragging because if the shoe were on the other foot, they would have done things differently. Different is not always brave. It just is. Others tell you that it seems brave. I just think it is wrong to ignore a challenge that needs facing.

Faked bravery isn't fake. Being scared to do something and doing it anyway *is* bravery.

I got a false sense of bravery when I used to beat up kids in school.

Isn't all bravery faked?

But you go on and do what's right anyway. You just hide the fact you are on the verge of pissing yourself.

Lots of times. The most recent time, though, was when I was by myself stranded in a foreign country, had to get emergency help from the US embassy, sleep on a bench in a train station, then spend another night on a bench...this time at an eerily empty airport. I was scared the whole time, but tried to act like it was the most natural thing in the world for me to do...

Never needed to. Someone is always ashamed of what they were not brave enough to do right in the first place. And, those of us that do it right the first time, are already on to new things to do.
