Does anyone know where a romantic place to have a picnic in Las Vegas would be? I'd really like somewhere that's free and has a nice view of the strip. Thank you!!

An awesome place to have a picnic is in front of the Fountains of Bellagio. There are lots of sitting/viewing areas on the walkway in front of the fountains. Just after dark is a great time. Take a blanket to sit on.

You could do the same by the Volcano at the Mirage.

I have never tried this one, but, on top of the Stratosphere tower would be a great spot. The view is spectacular. Sunset is a great time to be up there. I don't think they would mind you taking a bite to eat. I would call and ask though. I would take plastic bottles of pop/drinks rather than cans or bottles.

If you can ignore the lack of view of the strip, there are fabulous places to picnic on Mt Charleston (and much cooler there this time of year!) or you could drive to Valley of Fire State Park, about one hour north of Vegas - some of the most incredible scenery you can imagine there.

I've even driven to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon for a picnic - took us 3.5 hours to get there, had a great time viewing the canyon for a while, then we opened up the back of our small SUV and opened camp chairs and ate right there in the parking lot. Everyone who walked by was jealous - we had brie and baguette, fresh fruit, salamis, and sparkling cider (still had to drive back) :-) We tried a similar picnic at the west rim but that drive was frustrating and the view wasn't worth it - but those who paid $150 each to be driven there were incredibly jealous as they sat near us with their plastic wrapped convenience store sandwiches and bag of chips. :-)

Try the waterfall area of Sams Town on Boulder Hwy.
It is cool and very scenic.
