I don't use mine that much either, but I do like to have one when I'm driving long distance...you just never know when you may need one. I NEVER text message either. I'm just not someone that has to be on the phone all the time anyways, and it's funny because my husband uses the phone more than me.
Now, my kids love the text's like most of the younger generation.

People in my country (not usa) seems to be addicted to cellphones, they spend a lot of time visiting others by cellphone instead of doing it in person.
Sometimes they call others just to say hi and goodbye. That's why my cellphone service provider earns so much. It's really annoying when people is talking on cellphones excessively.
I stopped texting people I know because they never replied to my messages. I think I can leave without cellphones perfectly.

I don't use mine much either. I only have if for emergencies or car break downs. I have 2 kids I drive around all day. I don't text message either.

Well, I've had two, never used either of em' except once or twice I played a little game that came one of em! I suppose I don't even need one! (not now, anyways!)
