What I want to know is .....if you do not approve of Bush, what exactly has he done for you to come to that conclusion. If this thread works the way I hope, we will get a good cross section of Bush's failings listed on here as each of you explain why you do not approve.

I am not saying you should or should not approve of Bush, and I am not saying that I approve or disapprove of him. I just want to know why you do not approve..and for you to list some of the reasons he has failed in your eyes.

Thank you in advance for your input...

His illegal activities before becoming governor of Texas should have been enough to disqualify him from becoming president.

He started off both presidential elections with voting fraud. Florida's new Republican governor got rid of the machines Jeb Bush bought to rig the second Florida election, even though they were brand new machines bought from Bush family friends.

He lied to get us into an illegal and immoral war. He is profiting from the war through his blind trust, which I don't believe for a minute is blind. That's where all his oil and Halliburton stock is held. He is giving Halliburton billions and billions of no bid contracts. According to our GAO $15 million in oil is missing PER DAY in Iraq since he invaded it.

I could write a book but I'll stop here.

I'm still waiting to see the sample used for the study and what the numbers say. I'm willing to bet the samples are like most polling and skewed to the results the outlet is seeking. Bush has not been a great president and as a Republican I fought against his nomination in both elections. However, he is far superior to ANYTHING the dems have offered in 40 years. What's really funny is according to all the sites that are usually quoted around here the approval rating is rebounding and I am sure that it is because of the Dems complete and utter failures.

Judging by the thumbs up/down votes given to those who have answered this question, i see that it has attracted alot of bush lovers. To me the question should rather be WHY would anyone still support bush because to me EVERYTHING he has done from the election 2000 onward has been crooked and stinks to high heaven. He has taken us down the wrong road, the only hope that we and the world has lies in the next president being a Democrat and reversing all of the evil un-huminitarian deeds that bush and dick have put into place.
The only ones who SHOULD support bush at this point are million/billionaires. Because they are the only ones who are and ever did profit from the bush presidency.

Most Americans are neither qualified or, capable of assuming the role of president or, accurately assessing Bush's job so, what do ratings have to do with anything?

They think, they think, they think but they don't know.

Plus, these same people who attack Bush for his ratings also believe Carter was a wonderful president.

Carter's ratings were lower than Bush's and they throw that fact aside when assessing Carter's failed term.

You can't have it both ways, folks.

Bush's presidency was from the beginning overshadowed by 9/11 and he has done a fine job in light of it.

We clearly need a new direction for the U.S. I did not approve of Bush from the beginning. One of the first things he tried to do was take away overtime from a certain group of salaried people. Taking away benefits from working people is not a good thing to me. I didn't care for his responses to 911 and I was really against the occupation of Iraq. I did agree with going to Afghanistan and feel we should have remained strongly in that fight. In short, I feel he has really made a mess of things.

i'm between the 37%. remember that his approval score is unquestionably greater. Opinion polls are constantly taken in super cities, the place conservatives are in the smallest numbers. In rural areas, conservatives dominate. additionally, opinion polls are frequently taken in substantial cities in the Beltway. no person spends the money necessary to get a real sampling of united states of america of america, it somewhat is purely not the way the polling industry works. Even Fox skimps on the numbers (they frequently coach 2000-3000 human beings polled). it would take a minimum of 50,000 sampled from dozens of cities to get a real dynamic.

I disapprove of his double talk and evasiveness. He can lie without really seeming to do it, which is a valuable talent for someone who is selling an inferior product.

The inferior product is his own consistency as a politician.

When he ran he said, "America's job is not to build other countries..." exactly while he was already planning the takeover of Iraq says it all.

People think of Clinton's lie as terrible. Bush's is unforgiveable.

He's done very little to protect us from terrorism, and has in many ways made things worse.

He still can't find Bin Laden.

He's turned most of the world against us.

He took us to war for reasons he knew weren't true.

He appointed a bunch of incompetent political hacks to important positions.

He changed the recommendations of government agencies to fit his agenda.

He totally failed to prevent the flooding of New Orleans, and has done little to rebuild it or to prevent the next disaster.

He sees every problem as an opportuntiy to enrich his friends.

He's cut taxes for the rich and benefits for the poor.

He destroyed Valerie Plame's career to discredit her husband.

He commuted Scooter Libby's sentence to keep him from telling the truth.

He's subverted the constitution he swore to uphold.

He condones torture, kidnapping and other crimes against humanity.

He believes he is superior to the other branches of government.

He worships ignorance.

I disagreed with his approach in his 9/11 speech ("If you're not with us, you're against us").

I disagreed with No Child Left Behind.

I disagreed with the diversion of resources and attention to Iraq, and basically everything since.

He's a liar. He claims we went to afghanistan to find Osama and yet when we had him cornered we left him there to hide and went to get the big bad guys in Saudia Arabia with the non-existent WMD. That was all a lie to get his precious oil prices jacked up. We're fighting a war we can't win, with our innocent troops doing their job and God bless them sacrificing their lives for something we can never accomplish, and that isn't our place to accomplish anyway. Plus the no child left behind has left every public school child behind with no hopes of ever getting caught up. If I had to think about the future doctors attending kindergarten with my son under his programs that are underfunded and completely irrational...well thank goodness he can't infiltrate colleges, it's scary enough as it is.
