I don't text message, but I do e-mail. For me it's just about time. When I get on the phone it's usually for at lest an hour. I can send an e-mail and say all the same tings in less than 5 minutes. I still keep in touch and I still get things done that need to be done.

It is a novelty that will wear off in time. It certainly is not cheaper. Letters are called 'snail mail' , but there was a time when that was the method of communication. Now, people do not know how to spell, let alone write whole letters. The text craze means they do NOT have to spell correctly so they do not learn and still get their messages across very quickly.
Talking on the telephone means you have to really have something to say. A phone conversation involves more than "Whut's up?" Usually messages sent this way are of no value any way. Ugh.

Hi
This is very simple & logical. I criticise the people , who dont do this.
1- When you make a call, you never know, in what situation your recipiant may be. He may be driving, sleeping, busy in some hot talks with some body & in all these conditions, his response to you may not be soothing, so may even spoil your relationships.
2- When you talk some body on mobile, most often both talks simulteneously & clear text is missed.
3- When you talk, half of the time is spent in formal hellow conversations which were not actually the part of content, & this increases your phone bill, while text conveys the full details in a fixed charge.
4- Text- if received , could be read at ones own convenience
& in a proper mood.
5- Many times ,the calls are not received for genuine reasons(person is in toilet or forgot his/her mobile by mistake)) but are often confused for intentional acts, & this seriously effects the relations.
So it is always wise to msg then to call . Making calls , should be a reseved act for emergencies.
If you call some body rarely in this way , he will consider it serious one ,as he knows that you dont disturb him usually...
Remember- people , start avoiding , regular callers, who call just to hello.
Even , i suggest , if you want even to call somebody, its better to send him text about this , that you are going to call him at .......time, so he will not avoid it at all.
My dear , this mobile is giving you access to your friend's bedroom , so now you have to care them & save your money too along with keeping relations , perfect.

You can have more of a private conversation without having to leave the room so other people won't hear you. And it's also great for people who are at work and don't have time to talk. Or even just to send short messages like...I'm gonna be getting off work a little late tonight, or make sure you feed the fish before you leave.

I text about as much as I talk, it seems easier at times to text, that way if I am doing something I can get back to the text in due time. I still like to hear a human voice once in awhile.

I text more because I can do that and something else at the same time. When I talk on the phone I get distracted.

Because when you make a phone call, you're commited to that conversation. You have akward silences and don't know how to say 'goodbye' because the other person may not be done. With texting, you don't have to answer them right away, or at all. Its like going commando, its all about freedom :)

I love the the new technologies, but it is starting to get too far. I mean how much is enough, and isn't this getting to be overkill? I remember when all people had was plain cable and plug in phones. Microwaves were new and huge and cell phones were huge bricks.
