My service is through Qwest. Very seldom do I have a dropped call. I called my husband from inside the bowl at Delicate Arch in Utah and he heard my every word! I pay about $15.00 a month. Rates may be different for those who are not Qwest employees and those who use more than 60 minutes a month.
Qwest cell service is great though! I do know that many companies use Qwest lines and towers.

T-Mobile, Family plan is $35 for 1000 minutes with free nights and weekends and free long distance. I don't have a texting plan add-on, so those are .10 per text. I don't have any dropped calls and my service works in remote areas too. There isn't really anything I hate about my service, just time for a newer phone.

Verizon
Most of my family has verizon so we can all talk without using minutes.
I hate that my son refuses to quit going over his minutes.
For 3 lines about 80 dollars.
The only time I get dropped calls is when I am speaking with my mother.
