Depends on what method you use, use to be that in Ancient times, one would say things were in the 1st or 2nd year of this or that King and so forth, but new people moving into that Country would have no idea which King was which in a different era.

A system was devised called The Olympiad running every 4 years since Olympics were every 4 years and it was 1st year 1st Olympiad and so forth.

Dionysus came up with A.D. as Anno Domini for in the Year of our Lord to indicate how many years after Jesus was born even though we estimate Jesus was actually born before the B.C. era was over with.

It would be the same time astrologically as it is with the name of a year .The year does not matter.as the time would still be the same. The relation of the earth to the universe would be the same. AD and BC were invented to give us some kind of reference before the birth of Christ and after the birth of Christ. Take them out of the equation and the time remains the same.

Oblivion & anarchy. This nation and many others are based on religion and not much on science since science was considered witchcraft at first. And in some ways still is.

When using the name "Common Era" or "Current Era," early years are described as "before the Common Era" or "before the Current Era." When using the terms "Anno Domini" or "Christian Era," early years are described as "Before Christ" or "Before the Christian Era." The short forms for "Common Era" and "Before the Common Era" are CE and BCE, respectively. These short forms are sometimes written with small capital letters, or with periods (e.g., "C.E." or "B.C.E.").
