Why are some things fun? What quality do all fun things share in common? What IS fun?

I believe the state of having fun is where your mind, heart and body are at peace and you are in the moment simply taking in the sensations around you.
For ex: you can have fun watching a movie, even if it sucks if you feel rested and are comfortable with no mental problems to deal with, but say for ex: there is a broken spring in that couch, suddenly that movie is no fun and not worth watching due to the physical discomfort (body not at peace).

When:
Everyone including yourself indulge in games or sports, commit slips, mistakes,falling into water or mud, etc and everybody has a good laugh.
The occasion is a happy one and results in bringing home some rewards and sweet memories, e.g. several fishes you have caught, prizes you won at a fun-fair, still photographs or videos you have taken of your friends, etc.
Indoor theme parties where everyone dresses up in silly or unusual costumes and get teased or have to give some funny performances as penalties
You and the family go for a once-in-a-while outing to the forest, seaside resort, entertainment park, etc after school exams are over and everyone had nice and exciting things to eat or do

Fun or enjoyment is a matter of receiving fulfillment form what you are doing. can you enjoy a failure as much as a success? Can you enjoy your friends whether they are present or just writing you?
It is a learned skill.
