I'm 16. I never had an attitude with my mother because I was raised by the belt. If I said just one word back to my momma when she had just told me to shut up, I would of be on the floor before the word came out. I know you said you were never raised to hit you child and such, but essay writing and timeouts are for babies. It's time to get tough. Kids these days think they know everything, but they don't. Though, their bodies are maturing faster. It might be hormones, but she still should know where the line draws at her attitude. You need to draw it. Since you're not into spanking, try taking away her most cherished things: cell phone, TV, stereo/CD player/iPod, etc. Show her that this is the line and don't you ever cross it or else. Hope This Helped. :-)

Going through puberty is completely natural. Don't be scared of it. It means you are becoming a woman which is a wonderful thing. If, for some reason, you aren't comfortable about talking with your mom about this then find someone else to talk to....a friend...school nurse or counselor...a teacher...aunt ....cousin...etc. There are probably hotlines you can call listed in your phone book also. Your mom will need to know eventually. She will need to get you the feminine products you will need. Try not to be scared. It will all be ok. You will see. Congratulations on starting to become a woman.

It sounds like you are getting close to your period starting. I am concerned about discharges. If odor, color or irritation, you might have an infection. Why do you not want to tell your mother? Won't she have to assist with the supplies you might need or will someone else help you? If you can talk to your mother, and it might be in your interest to do so if she is supportive to you, you need to do so. Just explain what you have said here..you have signs, you are concerned, and you need to talk it over with her and make preparations just in case. Don't be embarrassed. Each girl goes there in their own time and she did, too. If you can't talk with her, consider calling the public health department for information and/ or an appointment if you have any concerning symptoms. My best to you!

It sounds like that may be the case. But why don't you want to tell your mom? Don't be embarrassed all of us had to go through it. And your mom (or another adult female like an aunt) can answer any questions you might have. Not to mention for some mom's this is a really big deal and is something that she probably wants to know!

There is no way to tell if you period is coming soon. THe things you described are just normal puberty things. You will just have to see when it comes. If you don't start your period by time you are 16 then you should see your doc to be sure everything is ok. For now relax and enjoy life with NO PERIOD.

You need to tell you Mom.She can halp you because she has been through the same thing that you are going throug now.
Just walk up to her and tell her that you`ve been having cramps, discharge, headaches, and that you think that you are fixing to start your period.Just tell her straight out.It makes it ALOT easier!!

Everyone is different but it sounds like you should get it soon, Keep some pads or tampons close by you in your purse or bag and don't worry this happens to evrygirl at somepoint. Congrats.
