I have received two of them myself in the past 5 years. It had my name on it. Inside was a piece of newspaper. The article on the newspaper pertained to nothing that had anything to do with anything. It didn't ask for anything. There was no return address. I had no idea what it was for. I don't understand how it could be a scam if there is nothing to reply to. There was a yellow sticky paper on the article that said "check this out". If you find out what it is please let me know.

This is all part of the tactic that is commonly called "phishing". The plan is to get information from you about checking accounts, savings accounts, credit and debit card numbers, social security numbers, etc.

Even if you do check out the 'offer' or enticement, just remember the old addage, "If it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is"

The tricksters come up with new angles every day to get your ID info out of you, so please make sure you are dealing with a 'trusted' and known entity long before you give out any kind of personal information.
