I have been fasely accused of taking money from an employer.I have consulted a lawyer & will fight this to the fullest extent.I am starting a new employer & I am afraid they will find out where I am & tell them these lies.I think they are just mad that I didnt put in a 2 week notice.I am extremely upset about this & can hardly function.Can they release this info to my new job?

If they do they can be sued for slander. You could get a nice hunk of change from them. Many employers will not say anything bad about a former employee because they are afraid of being sued.

In most states, they cannot tell your new employer unless you were actually convicted of it in court. Being "accused" is meaningless.

No, they can't. They are only allowed to provide the dates of your employment and the title of your position. Nothing else.

in addittion to telling the inquiring employer about your time of service, they can also tell them whether or not they would hire you back (if asked), but without details - which is still the worst way of doggin you if they say no.

No. By law all the previous employer can disclose is your time of service.

If you have not been convicted of it and they release that kind of information you can sue them for slander.
