best insulator?

i am trying to keep heat out of my grarge temporarly would foil be good to put on the glass panes or wood that make more heat should i just stick with newspaper? and yes the spelling is off but im tired

Anything that blocks direct sunlight will work. The suns rays are magnified when they go through the glass.

if you dont care too much what it looks like get a roll off insulation that is the same thickness as the ledge and cut it to size and tack up a pice of cardboard on the inside to hold it in place, this will shut out all the light too.
