Aha you where crying weren't you you sissy?! shame on you. Be a man!!!

I'm just kidding. The man don't cry thing is a cultural one. For some reason people came up with that rule for no good reason. I guess it must had been a way to survive. Men are the ones that go to war and see a lot of nasty stuff so they "must be tough" crying ain't tuff or so it is believe.

The truth of the matter is that that line of thinking actually leads to a lot of problems. What goes on is that the men holds all of those emotions inside and they bottle up. This is not a healthy practice.

However, in todays society it is still not completely acceptable for a man to cry. What has happened is that new rules have been made. Note that these are unspoken rules. So, it is considered ok to cry at a funeral or when a person is sick or dying. Also, when an emotional breakthrough is achieve in the family as in when a child leaves the home or dad and son now accept each other. Not at weddings though. Thats just gay hahahahaha.

Anyways, is ok to cry. I cried today twice. Yeah so I'm in touch with my emotions what is it to you? you want to make something out of it eh eh?! hahaha Well, I was listening to an old sad song. It was about this old guy who wife had died a long time ago. He hasn't heard from his kids, could not get a job because he was too old and nobody would hire him. Over time he had difficulties doing simple things and he was lonely because his wife died before him. One day he sat on his chair and though about his wife and how he wished she was still there. He got all emotional and he squeesed his weding ring which was the only thing he had from his old lady. The old man died that nigh. They found him the next day on that chair squeesing the ring and as much as they tried they could not ope his hand. Now you tell me thats not a sad song.

A song that always makes me sad is the cat in the cradle.

Another tear jerker that I saw the other day is a scene in the movie click by Adam Sandler. He pretty much work his own life albeit forced by a remote control. He skipped all the good stuff like when his parent visited, playing with his kids and what not. He became mega Rish and even his song became his employee. At an older age he had a heart attack during his son wedding. He was kept alive by machines. He woke up in the hospital and his son was there. He son informed him that he had canceled his honey moon with his wife because he needed to work on something in the office. The son left, Adam then unhooked himself form the machines and ran after him to tell him not to do it. To go to the honey moon because all his life he spent working neglecting his family and he didn't want his son to waste his life the same way. He died after that. Ofcourse is a comedy so it has a happy ending.

Anyways, is not about crying about every single thing because that makes a person a winer but, there are emotional things in life that makes it ok to cry.

Whenever it really feels necessary. Hopefully it isn't all the time. Crying is healthy. People who don't let a good cry out when needed have it build up inside and end up being very angry or depressed. If you are embarassed about it then do it when you are alone. There is nothing wrong with having a good cry. It will definately make you feel better. I don't suggest fake crying for selfish purposes because that would just be plain wrong. If you feel deep inside like you need to cry then do it. Don't worry about what others think. Do what is best for you.

You will get alot of immature pigheaded guys answering this question but my question is whens it not ok for a guy to cry? I mean why do we have to be so tough that we cant feel? Why do we have to follow the sterotype? Dont worry about what most guys have to say about when its okay to show emotion... If you feel you need to cry who cares then cry women love a sensitive man anyway i be myself and im being married in april to the woman of my dreams. Good luck just be yourself.

It is ok for a man to cry anytime. Why should a man not cry when something has come up that he should cry about? Men usually do not cry, in public, because they are suppose to be strong and not wimps. Men get laughed at for crying. So that is why men do not cry.

anytime. Just don't make it a habit. Like over a girl that's okay. Not like over a movie or something. Funerals. Stuff like that. Just don't get to carried away. It shows your a man when men do cry. Ladies like that. Just don't be a super sensitive kind of guy. Its okay to be sensitive but you know. Men have feelings to and its okay to show it. Good luck in the future!

why would it not be okay for a man to cry? It burns my butt that as a little child men are taught that big boys dont cry...BS, crying is a natural release to an emotion, I mean if you cry over every little thing then you might want to see a shrink, but if you cry over the birth of a baby or death or illness of a loved one, or a sappy or sad movie...big deal it does not make you any less of a man....macho men are confident enough to let a tear slide down their cheek....

I have not seen too many mans crying. It is not that common to see a man cry. So what , if it hurts that bad let it ha pen you r human aren't you? A man will cry when he has to. I find nothing wrong with that. We all cry sometime or another. I just finished crying myself and my nose got all stuffed up and so....

If he is the type of man that needs to be admired, respected and obeyed...he must identify himself as a rock of security.
In private, very seldom.
When a parent dies or a child of his dies or if his wife dies or his grandmother/father. Maybe a close uncle or aunt or friend.

If he is the type of man who gives a sh!t what people think, then he can cry over spilt milk and a girl who won't go out with him.

Difficult question. If your going to cry around a woman be very careful. If you have any doubt that the woman is INTO you DON'T. If you have had a fight with one and you want her back DON'T. Woman have a wuss meter and if you set it off it could be disastrous, even though, they say they want to see feelings in a man.The troubling thing is that the women has know idea how she will react till you do cry. They are strange!!

Nobody likes a person from either sex who goes around crying all the time.

But there are times when crying is appropriate....so then it's more than OK to cry.
