My my, how rude of you. I am a cheerleader and I, along with my entire team work our a**es off to be as good as we are. 83% of cheerleaders carry a "B" average or above in school and 62% have a second sport that they participate in. So we can't be stupid. We have to be incredibly strong to lift other girls above our heads and flexible enough to do tricks while we're up there. We also have to be incredibly trained in tumbling and must be very strong to participate in that too. Should gymnastics and dance be banned too? While you're at it, do you want to outlaw fun???

I think you've been watching a bit too much TV.
Cheerleading is an actual sport. People who aren't cheerleaders do not realize how hard and strenuous it can be. How does it promote stupidity? If anybody on my team gets below a B-, they're kicked off the squad. How does it make young women look like tramps and fools? The uniforms that we wear aren't to make us look hot or sexy... if we wore long sleeve shirts and sweatpants to practice and to every game, we'd sweat ourselves to death! Not to mention we'd probably trip while performing stunts, tumbles, jumps, etc...
I would love to see you cheering for one day... then you would realize how cheerleaders work their asses off and still no one appreciates it because 'it's not football' or the team is full of 'stupid blondes' or something like that. Even though Bring It On does stereotype cheerleaders, you should watch it because even though cheerleaders don't act like the spoiled brats in the movies, we work as hard as they do.
When I read the title of this question, I thought it was an actual concern over the dangerous stunts or something but ha! We're the ones with no sense? Puh-lease. I agree with all the people above.

I agree with the other people who answered this question.
You're bitter because you probably never made the cheerleading squad, or a cheerleader was mean to you.
And in my experience, when a girl says that cheerleaders were "mean" to her, they never even said anything to them. You just saw them having fun, getting boyfriends, etc. and got jealous, therefore making up rumors.

And who should we ban next? It is a slippery slope you intend to tread.
