A short while ago my father and I were sitting on the couch having a conversation when we heard my mother, who was asleep in her room, scream bloody murder, during the years of my mother's and father's marriage this has never happened. Scared to death of course we ran in there to check on her, nothing was wrong, she was sitting up and her response to us was "What?" we asked "What were you screaming at?" at then she replied "I don't remember screaming."
Has that happened to anyone?

Part II

I was scared of course, but for some reason it was like I was laughing and I really was not meaning to laugh! I was breathing so fast, and half crying, but it was like I was laugh, which made me look like a total jerk, after everything settled, I went to explain to my father I did not laugh, or at least I was not trying to, his response "Yes you were, don't give me that crap." very harshly, I really was not trying to, it was almost like a panic attack! How can I explain I was not trying to?

Mike G, I spend a lot of time with my mother, we were not watching televison, my mother has to go to bed for she must get up a 4:00 A.M to go to work, I spend a lot of time with my mother, more than with my father, I don't believe it was for attention.

She probably had a night terror. Just apologize and tell him you think you had a panic attack. Some people laugh when they're upset but they don't necessarily think something is funny. It's an automatic reaction.

You'd be on the set of coronation highway! In concept i think if no longer something ever happend, there could have been no super Bang which might advise that situations for lifestyles does not have been created!! In physics isn't there a regulation that states each and every action HAS AN equivalent AND OPPOSITTE reaction?? subsequently if there grew to become into no preliminary action, evoloution does not exist.... Cool! Existential questions:)

I think it is night terrors. I've had like two of those in the past. I was running through a jungle that seemed to have no end being chased by wild animals I didn't recognize I got up and yelled, no one saw me though. I was covered in sweat. as for your dad I think you should give it a couple of days and maybe appoach him again calmly.

Lots of people laugh or giggle when they get scared or nervous. It's a normal response. I'm sorry he doesn't get that. I guess if you don't know that as fact, it would seem rude. Talk to him after he's calmed down. Be sincere.

It's called hysterical laughter, and no, it is not meant to ridicule or to make light of a situation. It is similar to a panic attack. Our bodies natural fight or flight instinct. Adrenalin just takes over, and our bodies react in different ways.

I'm sorry your dad didn't understand. Perhaps he was just to shook up himself. I'm sure he will forgive you. I'm glad your mom was ok.

Just tell him it was hysterical laughter, a release of tension after finding out that your mother was fine. :)

She probably did it to get attention. You and your father are spending too much time in front of the TV and she is getting sick of not getting to spend any time with you. . . . .it does not count to "spend time" when you are all watching something together.
