are there high speed trains that go between those cities? i read online that there might only be night trains for that route. is that true? what's the quickest way by train? thanks.

The fastest day connections are
Nice to Milano, change there to Venice, (about 50,euros)
10.05 - arr. 18.09
14.05- arr. 22.09
Look up the exact schedules on trenitalia.com
The night train is
21.07 to 7.36 next am. nonstop
It's probably crowded so try to reserve early.

or for sure on raileurope.com

Yes, there are night trains, but the travel duration doesn't change much. There aren't many stops between the two cities. Check train schedules, on this website:

Or take the airport...quicker and might be almost the same price.
