Just wondering. I mean, lately you hear all these bad things surrounding cops, how many of them use the fact that they have a badge to inflict sexual assaults and stuff. What does that say? Where's the fine line between the criminals and the cops? Quite scary, right. And then we wonder how crime rates have increased so much over the years...

But, I'm not saying all cops are bad. I have family members that are cops, but there are still those bad apples out there. Share you opinions, folk.

Thanks.

To me it seems they are all out to make that holy grail bust and will do anything to do it.
Back in the day the police were more community oriented and were not seen as a potential threat like the mugger in the ally.
My dad was a police officer for 31 yrs and he enjoyed it...at least the first 25 yrs...he became disgruntled when the younger cops would arrest anyone and everyone for anything...even on those cite and release cases.
He never drew his gun and never shot anyone the whole time..it also seems these days the cops dare you to do something just to have that notch on their gun...all they have to do for the most part is not put themselves in a situation of having to use a gun..like standing in front of cars or standing to close to suspects.
I believe the training has been degraded to hurry up and fill the streets.

Good points. It all starts with different rules for different fools. We need one set of laws; if I speed and get a ticket, so should cops. (I am not referring to when they are chasing criminals, but when they are going shoping, the doctor, whatever.)
And, don't forget, the worst crime you can commit in this country is killing a cop. When President Reagan was shot, his assailant got off with only a sentence. At the same time, some guy shot a cop; he was shot to death.
Everyone, no matter his station in life, should be subject to the same laws with the same punishment for infarctions.

There are Good and Bad people everywhere. Cops just get more attention when they do things wrong compared to an Electrician, or some other job with less public interaction.

Every type of group has a few bad apples.

I think we're going to hell in a handbasket fast, and it's not just the cops who are getting out of line.

Over worked and under paid. The vast majority are good, but the bad apples are a you get what you pay for issue.

Considering most have good intentions, I think the benefits of having police would outweigh no police at all.

Police>Criminals

Police are a necessity. They often get a bad rap. And, sadly, like in any other profession, there are bad ones. Can you imagine society without them, though?
