She's the Man was based on the Shakespeare play 'The Twelveth Night'. A previous adaption may have the same title, but I didn't know there was any other. There was a movie in the eighties called "Just One of the Guys" with a girl having to dress up like a guy that I think was kinda similar, but it's not an earlier version.

It is supposed to be a remake of Twelfth Night, but seems more like Just one of the Guys.. all of the names and some of the lines came from Shakespeare.. Just one of the Guys was sort of a take on twelfth night as well though..
