First year I went I wore jeans and tshirt, jeans and my converse...the jeans probably weren't the best idea, but the rest was okay.
Last year I wore a shirt, and shorts and flipflops and it worked out fine.
I was always in the pits too and my flops stayed on!

It doesn't really matter what you wear though, just be COMFORTABLE.
It always rains at the Warped Tour here, so don't wear white just in case.

As for the free stuff, some of the tents give out bags to carry ALL the stuff, there is a LOT of free stuff they give...make to sure to get the Official Warped magazine that has a thing for all the bands in it.
BRING A CAMERA!!
A lot of bands just walk around and a lot do signings =)

Oh yeah, money, bring as much as you want.
Probably $50 would be perfect.
Water is a good thing to have, but they sell it there for like $3.
Of course you could always ask someone to dump some on you and they will, the people are very nice.

Most of all: HAVE FUN!
It's great, I love it...but unfortunally I can't make it year because I'm not going to be home that day and I actually know a band playing this year =(

EDIT//
Also, if you sign up for something to get something in return, put down fake information...haha.
Here they encourage you too!
If you're unsure about it, ask...how do they know the info is real or not ;)

I went last year but dont know about this year...bring a bookbag, your gonna pick up a lot of free samples and fine awesome deals like just out in store cds that are normally like 20$ in stores for like 5$...a trash bag to bag up stuff incase it rains (rain wasnt on the forecast, but it rained the wholetime last year), stuff to write with to get autographs...and as soon as you get in on the day, find out where your fave bands are playing so that you dont miss a show...they usually have a huge billboard with everything posted. Bring plenty of money, too, which is a duh.

Also, when the days like ending, look in the crowd for random band members...I got alot of autographs out of lines this way last year lol.

Have funnn!

you should dress how you normally dress, unless of course you're a scenester....which it sounds like it. just have fun, it's not like it's a popularity contest.
