I have two cats. I have a favorite cat and whenever i roam around the house, I always stopped and pet my favorite cat and pet her. Although I HATE cats but I rescued two cats BEFORE mowing over the grass (in my backyard). I couldn't let them go so i made some adjustment and understand cats nature. It does relax me to pet them and look out for them. Amazing, I got to hear her purring louder and louder whenever I'm near her. I would never give them away! My dog are used to with cats and always play around them. Its a good feeling that I've done something humanitary to save those cats (2 weeks old, buried under semi-tall grass and was rejected from thier mother).

I pet my girlfriends kitty every night before we go to bed, the next morning, and once before and after she goes to work.
She has a weird fascination with my pet wiener dog too. She pets it every time she gets.

i think she meant how often you "pet" your "kitty." or maybe she really did just mean "pet your kitty" and not "pet" your "kitty".
