Jargon is basically the technical language and terms used by a certain group. Like..computer jargon would be such things as: DVD-ROM, RAM, and so on. If you want to get technical:

1 a: confused unintelligible language b: a strange, outlandish, or barbarous language or dialect c: a hybrid language or dialect simplified in vocabulary and grammar and used for communication between peoples of different speech
2: the technical terminology or characteristic idiom of a special activity or group
3: obscure and often pretentious language marked by circumlocutions and long words

Technical language or really specific language that has little use in everyday conversation. Usually the jargon words are specific to a profession (like doctors or chemists) or even the internet. You could call terms like BTW and FAQ jargon (or arguably slang). They're words that have virtually no other purpose outside of their original context, and is used/created to be used only by a specific group of people

It's esoteric.

Jargon is sort of like...professional slang.

Jargon is words used by people in a limited area and given a special meeting in that area. An example my father gave me when he researched training programs in industry is 'soup' which refer to liquid ink in the printing industry, liquid soap in the detergent industry and, amazingly, liquid soup in the food industry.
Sometimes it is shorthand, 'lox' is liquid oxygen in rocketry and medicine and other places.
Sometimes jargon is just the precise words that people need to communicate accurately - in medicine, dorsal and ventral have exact meanings that front/back and top/bottom don't have when a person is injured and laying on their side (dorsal is down the spine and ventral down the belly.)
Usually it is precise in its place, unlike slang.
