For the past 4 years I have been taking Prilosec OTC for heartburn. I cannot go a day without out. Sometimes on the weekends I forget to take it, and end up suffering horribly. So for me, I see it as a lifetime that I will be taking it.

yer body may end up buildin up a tolerance to the meds in which case u'd have to take higher and higher doses to have the same result. It could also eventually effect yer liver which cleans yer body of toxins. so over yrs of takin meds it will take a toll on yer liver because of the build up of the meds . the human body was not made to process chemicals.
