Everyone is saying 35,152, but that's not entirely correct. There are 35,152 FOUR letter combinations that start with either W or K. But there are the original stations that broadcast at 50,000 Watts, which are only three letters long. That adds a potential 26 x 26 x 2 or 1,352 stations, for a total of 36,504.
By the way, there are also stations now that start with X.

There are 4 events (4 call letters)
The first is either W or K so that's only 2 choices.
The other 3 have 26 possibilities.
So 2 x 26 x 26 x 26= 35152
