Ok so a few weeks ago my grandpa reached through the window to unlock the door because he didnt have a key (it was down far enough that he reached in easily) and now the alarm goes off whenever you lock the door.

She locks the door, and about 15 or 20 minutes later the alarm goes off until you unlock the door. She has been doing it over and over to watch and see if anyone is touching it, but nobody is around and it just keeps going off, but not until at least 15 minutes later. If she leaves the door unlocked, it never goes off at all.

However, we live in a downtown area and if she leaves it unlocked (its a nice car) chances are its going to get stolen soon.

Anyone know why this is happening or how to stop it?

Just open the door, get out, lock it and shut it. When the alarm goes off, unlock the door with the key. That should kill the alarm.

to coach the alarm off -- you may desire to wanna try disconnecting the battery for like 5-10 minutes. you want the keypad to reset the alarm besides. bypass to radio shack and replace the battery interior the keypad.
