No they dont work to get dates they are more of an ice breaker. Use one thats not offensive to start up a real conversation. Women like men who can hold conversation and keep their attention focused for longer then 5 minutes. And no i dont mean focused on her cleavage.

Well once sort of A guy came up to me at a record signing party for a local band and said You look just like Winona Ryder yada yada gave me his business card when I shot him down just in case... My friend grabbed it as I went to toss it, convincing me to meet him out for coffee ( since he was so "hot" ) with her in tow to make sure he wasn't a total freak.

if the guy is kinda nerdy and funny and he says it and sorta laughed, that worked for me with my ex bf, he screwed it up too, so that just made it cuter and funnier, it was that one "did it hurt wen you fell from heaven, cause u must be an angel" and he said "did it hurt wen you fell...from the sky..."
