There were no drugs found in his system. He drowned when he got caught in a strong undertow and got sucked under.
He was just hanging out with a friend on the banks of the Wolf River with a friend and was later going to pick up friends from the airport.

Jeff Buckley's autopsy confirmed there were no drugs in his system at the time of his death. A drug overdose was ruled out as a result.

Not that I recall.
It was an "accident" but I think it was suicide though....
