Is the written question test hard? i read most people fail the first time..

I didn't think it was that hard. I passed on my first time. My brother had to take it like 2 or 3 times though (but he also studied for one night). As long as you study for a week or so you should be just fine!

its easy just study a little bit (you don't even need to do that much), supposedly now its on the computer (I did the old school paper test back in the day).
Generally speaking getting a license in Arizona (or i guess a permit in your case) is way too easy. Kinda scary actually because of security they tightened up a few laws, but still here in AZ its like 20 or so years until you have to renew your license.
A friend of mine had his ID checked in Cali they seriously thought his license was a joke cuz of the renewal date.

I took it about 20 years ago. It wasn't too difficult (at least I didn't think so). Back then the hardest part was getting the material to study for the test. In fact I had to go in an hour before my test so that I could use the study manual that they had. Once I read through it, I passed the test.
I did find the manual that they used to get their questions from (back in the day). In fact just perusing through it I saw 3 questions that I remember being asked about.
