I just moved to a diff apt, and my old apt had a shiny tub. I kept it that way so easily... rinse the wall down throughly after showering, and dry the wall and tub straight away! I did it even before I got out of the tub, and I tell you, if you do this, you won't ever have to scrub your tub again!!!

BUT... the tub in my new apt looks FILTHY!! I scrubbed it with pure Lysol, then comet and an sos pad (no they don't scratch tubs) then BAMM, and today a cleanser called KABOOM... guess what... it still looks filthy!! Now the BAMM & KABOOM are corosives, and if anything should have cleaned it, they should have... but they DIDN'T (can I get a refund please). There is what looks like a ring around the tub, and there's not a speck of shine in it... Has anyone else fixed this kind of problem???

THANKS!!

THANKS so much to all that replied. I really appreciate your opinion!! You've given me a lot to try. I'm going to try the javex trick, and I'll buy the scrubbing bubbles... but then I'm done... so much money spent with no results.

THANKS AGAIN!!

As for the reply that it's an old tub, it's no older than the one I had upstairs that shined like new. I think the chic that lived her before me just didn't bother to clean it ever... what a pig!!

what i do is,, dump a whole gallon of bleach in my tub,, fill it uo with hot water only, and let it sit for 2 hours, drain it.... spray clorox clean up on , and with a green scratchy pad. clean it thouroly. i hope this workd for you, i understand how stains can get to a person, and when you come out of the tub, feeling dirtier then when you get in,,, somethin's gotta change.

My pal instructed me approximately this one, and it does artwork use Milton, it what you utilize to bathe toddlers bottles with, if the curtain around the tub have mildew marks on it to boot pour the bottle in the tub fill with some warm water positioned your curtain in the tub and soak it throughout night is the best, not purely will it get the mould out of your curtain is likewise will do away with stubborn tub stains, you do not even ought to pay expensive for it you will get it from the pound/affordable shops, so to boot as a clean tub and curtain it will bypass away a pretty scent to.

Yes, I fixed this problem by filling the bath with water and adding denture cleaner. It shines the ath and removes the ring. If you use Ranex with half the dilution and rubit all over, it also works a miracle.

How old is the tub?
The finish does wear off some types unfortunately.
Ask at a hardware store to see if they can tell you how to re-finish it, or get the landlord to.
I hope you pointed this out to him at the pre-inspection.
