um... 1/2 *1/2 = 1/4. Unless there's a trick I'm missing....


not to be a pain, but Susan could have written it like this to avoid confusion: 1/2 * 1/2 = (1*1)/(2*2) = 1/4

and then multiply the bottom numbers- 2 x 2= 4
so the answer would be 1/4
