He's a lefty and his pitch's are dead on.
He's also a switch hitter. Bats better right handed..go figure.

How do I push him without burning him out?

** To add...when I mean 'push him', I always stress education first, but his coach's gloat over him and now he thinks he doesn't 'need' to practice because he has 'natural talent'. His coach told him that he was a 'rare talent' so his head is VERY big.

Arrange for him to play with some older kids that have "game," and he will either come down to earth, or we start selling baseball cards with his picture. Remember, I thought of it first!

You won't burn him out; it sounds as if he loves baseball. Don't push him at - just let him know that being on a team (any type of team) is a responsibility and that he needs to do his best at all times while encouraging less talented teammates.

Talk to the coach about encouraging him w/o bragging on him too much.

Continue to be supportive by going to the games and cheering him on, etc. and you and he will be fine.
