my friends mom died recently, and im going to her funeral & viewing...i was thinking black....i have a really cute black shirt that i would like to wear, but i dont know if its appropriate. then i want to wear capris, but idk what color, with sum cute flats.....any ideas are welcome. much thanks! you can also put pictures on from some cheap, online stores...♥... thank you thank you! and i dont have a mall ANYWHERE near me....the closest is 8 hours away

Wear darker colors. Black, navy blue. Polka dots and pinstripes are acceptable, so long as the polka dots aren't pink or blue or green... white or grey. You really don't need to worry about being cute. This is actually very rude. Would you like someone going to your mothers funeral in a black minidress and black leggings? As cute as an outfit that is, it just isn't appropriate. Even if the only skirt you have is khaki, wear that with a white shirt. I would also suggest a pantsuit, or a jacket and matching skirt if you have one. If not, wear what you have right now. The flats actually do work, so long as they are modest and solid in color. NO CAPRIS. NO MINI SKIRTS. NO TANK TOPS. If the only solid colored shirt you own is a tank top, wear a jacket over it. And once you do get to a mall or store, make sure to invest in a pansuit or jacket/skirt or appropriate dress for future occasions.

You could wear a black dress, a black shirt with a skirt or tailored black slacks DO NOT wear capri pants. A black dress with black flats or a black shirt with a black skirt and black flats would be best if you really want to wear black. Dark blue or grey are other options. Some people wear all white, and I've done that. A lot depends upon the setting, church, funeral home, etc. and more importantly the wishes of the family of the deceased. Ask your friend for advice, she'd probably welcome the diversion! My mother asked that all girls and women wear pastel colors to her funeral. I wore a lilac color dress and coat.

Listen Chicky, if you're going to a funeral, the last thing you should be thinking about is what is and isn't "cute". If you show up at the funeral with a black shirt and black capris, then I don't think that will be appropriate. A simple black dress will do, because it sets a good impression, and it shows that you have respect and sympathy for the family.
But...definately wear black!!

Depends on the religion in some cases. If the funeral is for a Quaker, wear colorful clothing. Black is always suitable but don't dress to fancy. For my fathers funeral I wore a white shirt with black pin stripes and black pants. Just don't go trying to look like a fashion model, nobody will remember your outfit and it is inappropriate.

Umm black mostly but you could throw in dark gray colors.Try just a simple dress or maby a black shirt with a gray tank under neath with some black pants and black dressy shoes, or capris.Flats would work too.Hmmm *thinks* go with a the sweater and gray underneath,black capris,and black flats.Sorry about your friend's mum must be hard for her right now.

You don't have to wear black to a funeral...wear dark blue or just a dark outfit. I wouldn't go out and buy something if you don't have to.
Wearing back has been something that people use to do back long ago, it's not really something you have to do today.
You're a good friend for going, I'm sure no one is going to look at the way you're dressed. Your friend is lucky to have you.

Your putting a lot of thought into this. It's not like you're going to a party. Just put something decent together. Black pants/with any shirt(nothing too bright or slutty)

Do you have a plain black suit you could wear? Remember, it's not really important if you look "cute" or not....I'd worry more about looking appropriate.

its a FUNERAL.. its not about looking cute..
just wear black. yess you can wear khaki caprcie/pants or jeans.. as long as youre wearing a black shirt..
