I have an Amp'd prepaid phone and they filed BK so I need to switch it to a new provider for prepaid minutes. Does this work and if so, who can I switch to?

Yes Amp'd Mobile did file bankruptcy recently. Apparently if you activate a new prepaid phone with a new provider than you have to purchase a new phone and also purchase refill cards. It doesn't switch or rollover to another company if you go to another prepaid cell phone company. Here are some prepaid cell phone companies to check out at your local retailer such as Best Buy, Target, or Circuit City.

Boost Mobile
Virgin Mobile
Verizon Wireless Impulse
T-Mobile Prepaid
Cingular Go Plans-Prepaid
